A teaching style that includes innovative ideas

Today at the Tashkent State University of Economics, the Center for Higher Education Development Research and Application of Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education launched a seminar program among HEIs on the topic “Organization of the educational process based on the credit module system”.

The first stage of this five-day seminar was held at the Tashkent State University of Economics.

Representatives of Tashkent Financial Institute, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, International Islamic University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Law University and other organizations participated in the seminar.

— ECTS (European) – the use of a system based on transparency in student-oriented education, teaching and evaluation of education is important in effective educational processes, said Mansur Sultanov, Head of Academic Activities and Registrar’s Department of Tashkent State University of Economics. – Its object is to simplify the creation of educational programs, their delivery to students and its evaluation, the student can easily understand the knowledge acquired during the exchange program, a diploma or other type of document and the period of study.

In this seminar, the concepts of “credit” and “module” are given, including that “academic credit” is a symbolic unit of measurement regularly collected by a student in order to obtain this level of education at a certain stage of higher education, and this unit means that the student has completed a certain amount of study load and it was noted that it means that he has successfully mastered the results of his studies.

It was explained that “academic module” is a set of systematic, consistent reading and learning activities with its own assessment criteria, aimed at achieving specific educational results. It was also reported that it usually lasts one semester, but in some cases it can consist of several hours, and that in the ECTS system, each module represents a certain number of credits.

During the event, interesting examples were given about the structure of the ECTS credit-module system consisting of two necessary parts, the study load and the division into study results.

The second part of the event was full of questions and answers, which left a rich impression on the audience, which can be seen in their lively exchange of ideas and non-stop debates.

It was announced that the next seminar of the Higher Education Development Research and Implementation Center under the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education will be held on September 15 of this year at the Polytechnic University of Turin.

Educational seminars, which include innovative ideas in such a new format, serve as a basis for our training of mature personnel who meet world standards in the field.
